This is the newest route on the wall.

Thus far, this is the only route on the Upstairs Slab.

Start out with a short scramble up to the base of the route.

Good crimps and some vertical features in the rock help you move up and slightly left as you climb.

The route has not seen much traffic, so it is a bit gritty yet. It is always a good idea for your belayer to have a helmet.

This route is more or less a bolted boulder problem. Like

POU

, if it were longer it would get more stars. 2 boulder problems separated by a decent shake comprise this line. The first one hits you right as you pull on the start holds, so make sure you are warmed up.

This is the crag warm-up. This route would get more stars if only it were longer. It is still a very fun and worthy line. Some easy climbing on big holds leads to a fun, tricky sequence in the middle and then to a good rest. Clip the last bolt, and figure out your beta for the lip/mantel to the chains.

This is the farthest left line that climbs the steepest part of the wall. It is probably the steepest 5.12 in the Summit County area. Climb up easy moves to a overhanging, small, white dihedral. Power through the dynamic crux to a shake at 3/4 height, then climb up a pumpy finish to the anchors. This shares anchors with

This line is currently a project in the .13 range. It branches right off of the 3 bolt of

Thunder Buffalo

for an additional 4 bolts. There used to be a piece of white tape on the first bolt where it branches.

A hold broke making this thing hard, probably unpleasant 13+. It is a first ascent to whomever can climb it.

Thunder Buffalo is a worthy tick for the 5.11 climber or the perfect warm-up for the harder lines here. This route is game on from the start (stickclip the first, if not second, bolt). It is technical, thoughtful, and somewhat beta specific throughout. There are a couple rests on this climb if you look for them. Save some gas for the finishing sequence guarding the chains.

There is a (currently) closed project that branches off the third bolt of this line to the right and finishes at its own set of anchors above the blank panel.
