Climbs almost to the top of the formation in one long pitch.  The route is mostly low angle with a vertical step in the middle.  The route was drilled on lead without hooks or aid.

Scramble to the summit from the top of the pitch then scramble back and rappel down.  There is no intermediate anchor and two ropes are mandatory.   People should take some fresh webbing or chain for the anchor.

An active lightning storm was approaching as the FAs topped out on the formation hence the name.

This is one of a handful of routes on the Mothership. This route stops before the steep water streak.

Ride the Lightning climbs through the bulge to the left up to just below the summit.
